The american department of justice choosed not to prosecute the responsible for CIA-torture. In a letter to the officers of CIA (the letter can be found here) Obama wrote:
« the men and women of the CIA have assurances from both myself, and from Attorney General Holder, that we will protect all who acted reasonably and relied upon legal advice from the Department of Justice that their actions were lawful. The Attorney General has assured me that these individuals will not be prosecuted and that the Government will stand by them. »
Pityfull! Its a shame and the wrong and worst signal to send.
If waterboarder « relied upon legal advice from the Department of Justice that this action were lawful », well it happens to be wrong, and someone at the Department of Justice has to stand in front of a judge.
On the other side, maybe if all this guys were prosecuted, nobody would be left to run the store, and the CIA would have to be closed!
